Smartphone Macro Photography Steps (Natural Light Required)

Required Shots

1. Full Watch View：Lay the watch flat on a neutral surface and capture its overall appearance from a straight-on angle. Ensure the case shape, band style, and overall design are fully visible to show the watch’s general condition.
2. Watch Dial：Zoom in on the dial (face) of the watch. Capture details such as the brand logo, hour markers, dial texture, and any printed text, ensuring no glare obscures the surface.
3. Pointer Central Axis：Focus closely on the central axis where the hands (pointers) attach to the dial. Use macro mode to show the precision of the axis, including its shape, fit, and any small engravings or details.
4. Watch Hands & Hour Markers：Photograph the watch hands and hour markers clearly. Highlight the texture, color, and printing/engraving quality of the markers, as well as the shape and finish of the hands.
5. Date Window (If Applicable)：If the watch has a date window, focus on it to capture the date display, font style, and the fit of the window within the dial. Ensure the details are sharp and free of reflections.
6. Full Back of the Watch：Capture the entire back case of the watch. Show the overall shape, screws (if any), and the edge of the case, ensuring no parts are cropped out.
7. Engravings on the Watch Back：Use macro mode to zoom in on engravings on the back case, such as brand logos, serial numbers, model numbers, or metal purity stamps. Ensure every character and detail is legible.
8. Crown：Photograph the crown (the winding/setting knob) on the side of the watch. Capture its shape, surface texture, any engravings or brand markings, and its fit with the watch case.
9. Side of the Watch Band：Focus on the side of the watch band (strap). Show the thickness, texture, stitching (for leather bands), or link details (for metal bands) to verify craftsmanship.
10. Clasp Logo：Zoom in on the watch clasp. Capture the logo, engravings, or brand markings on the clasp, ensuring clarity and detail to confirm authenticity.

Pro Tips for Perfect Photos

• Use soft natural daylight (avoid direct sunlight, flash, or harsh artificial light) to prevent glare on the watch dial, case, and band, which can obscure details.
• Enable your phone’s macro mode for all close-up shots (especially engravings, axis, and markers). Hold the camera 2-5cm away and keep it steady—use a small stand if needed to avoid blurriness.
• Place the watch on a neutral-colored, flat surface (e.g., white or light gray) to eliminate background distractions and keep focus on the watch details.
