Apparel Authentication Photo Guide
Smartphone Macro Photography Steps (Natural Light Required)
Follow these steps to capture clear, detailed photos for accurate apparel authentication. Skip any parts that your item does not have.
Required Shots
-
Collar Tag (Front & Back):Focus on the collar tag (brand tag). Capture both the front and back sides, ensuring brand logos, fonts, stitching details, and materials are sharp and legible. Avoid covering any small prints or embossments.
-
Size Tag (Front & Back):Photograph the size tag from both sides. Ensure size numbers/letters, brand markings, and any additional stitching or labels on the back are clearly visible. This helps verify consistency with brand standards.
-
Care Label (All Sides):Take photos of every side of the care label (wash label). Capture all text, symbols, care instructions, and fabric content details without blurring. For multi-panel care labels, shoot each panel individually.
Pro Tips for Perfect Photos
-
Use soft natural daylight (avoid direct sunlight, flash, or artificial lighting) to prevent glare, color distortion, and shadow coverage on tags.
-
Enable your phone’s macro mode for close-up shots—hold the camera 2-5cm away from the tag and keep it steady to ensure sharp details.
-
Lay the garment flat on a neutral-colored surface (e.g., white or light gray) when shooting, to keep focus on the tags and avoid background distractions.
Important Reminder
Authentication turnaround time begins only after we confirm all submitted photos meet our clarity standards. Blurry, overexposed, or incomplete tag photos will delay the issuance of your authentication report.
